Course Overview
The BSc (Hons) Health & Social Science degree is aimed at students who have a broad interest in health and the social sciences but who do not wish to specialise in a single area. The degree is underpinned by a core programme in health, wellbeing, a community sport focus, sociology and social policy. A feature of this degree is the second year work related learning module in which students will develop their employability skills. This degree enables students to explore health & social sciences whilst also gaining valuable insight into the world of work, leadership and team working. There are different types of assessments: Written Course works, Presentations and Exams. Students graduating from this programme will have core knowledge in health, wellbeing, sociology and social policy as well as a broad understanding of the wider social sciences. If they choose to participate in the volunteering options through the Student Lifecycle and Student Support Services it will enhance their CV and develop their employability skills.

Admission Requirements
Entry Requirements
- If you do not meet the minimum requirements for the three-year programme, or do not feel fully prepared for a Level 4 course, this four-year programme including a Foundation Year could be for you
- Application based on previous qualifications: Minimum of 90 credits from a Level 3 qualification such as A Levels or BTECs
- Mature learners (aged 21+): Assessment based entry considering prior experiences (work, voluntary, life, and other experiences) relevant to the course

- Personal statement (500 words)
- English language test (minimum 70% score, equivalent to IELTS 6.0)
- Maths test (minimum 50% score)
- SAPE assessment (Screening for Accreditation of Prior Experience)
